Adventures in Southern Maryland: The Girls!

Here's what's going on with the girls lately. I want to write this stuff down somewhere so I don't forget!

Bella is nearly 29 months old. She sure knows how to tantrum like a 2 year old. We are trying to figure out what works and what doesn't with discipline for her. My parents say that she is just like me when I was little. Uh oh. She still loves going to daycare at Sophie's house. She is talking a BUNCH and is always saying new words like "power plant" or "binoculars." She is putting together long sentences and making a lot more sense to us when she talks now. She still loves to read. Her favorite books right now are I Love Fall (aka "Fall Book"), Curious George's Thanksgiving ("Curious George Book"), I'm a Big Sister ("Big Sister Book") and Five Little Pumpkins ("Five Pumpkin Book"). Before bed she always asks me to sing "Hush Little Baby"(Mommy, sing "Hush Baby?"). She is a good big sister and she takes take to give Juliet toys to play with and tries to make her laugh. Bella is in a Dora the Explorer phase and is always asking to watch it. She also likes The Fresh Beat Band, Super Why, Curious George….. oh, and Charlie Brown. She likes princess things (dress up and books) but she doesn't have the attention span for the longer Disney movies yet. She can now ride a tricycle and pedal herself. Her favorite place to be is outside! She sleeps from about 7pm to 6am. She still sleeps through the night most nights. She is wearing mostly 2T clothes (especially pants… she has a tiny waist and even 2T sometimes won't stay up) but she has some 3T shirts and PJs that fit well too with room to grow. She is just about ready to grow out of size 7 shoes. I swear she raced through 2 shoe sizes recently. She keep us SOOOO busy.

Juliet is 5 months old. She is still happy and smiley almost all the time. She really only cries when she gets hungry. She loves to watch everything her big sister does and she laughs really easily when Bella gives her attention. She can roll both ways very proficiently. If I set her on her play mat, within a few minutes she can be 5 feet away. She loves the exersaucer. She can sit up if slightly supported by some pillows but she can't sit up on her own yet. She has tasted some sweet potatoes and bananas but isn't really into the food yet - and most of it ends up on her bib. Juliet isn't really into a consistent sleep routine yet. She goes to sleep around 7. Last night she woke up at 10 to eat and then slept until 6 a.m. She tends to wake 1-2 times per night. She does not take a binky really well (if falls out pretty easily) but seems to always want something to suck on. She MUST be teething. She wears 3-6 month clothing and will probably be moving into 6-9 month clothing very soon. She just has the prettiest smile and is really such a pleasant baby.
