Bella's Walking!

Well, I think we can finally call it.  At 15 months, we have a legitimate walker.  She has been taking a few steps here and there for the past few weeks, but now she is able to walk across a room.  Today, Anthony saw her walk from the living room to the kitchen, turn around, and go back into the living room before plopping down.  I think she had the motor skills to do this a few weeks ago, but she finally got enough confidence to put it into action!

Bella can eat crunchy apples now.  She has so many teeth...  (and she loves 'em too!)

Michael Jackson impersonator

Yes, Anthony taught Bella how to impersonate Michael Jackson.  I'm sure this will prove to be a useful skill.

Holly - this picture is for you.  See, I put a bow in her hair.  Happy?

Bella started saying "shoes" earlier this week.  Today she said pointed to and said "bubbles" a few times while she was watching her signing time video.  She seems to be saying new things all the time now.  :)

She is getting a little braver with the walking.  I'll catch her taking a few steps in between things, but she won't do it when we ask her to... only when we're not looking... She is definitely more steady than a week ago though.  She'll get the confidence to walk across the room soon, I think....

The latter end of the 14th month...

Yep, she crawls around with a bucket on her head sometimes.  And laughs when she runs in to something.

She loves to sit in her toy storage boxes.  She gets in and out, in and out.

The girl loves accessories... Here she is wearing my pearls.

She loves shoes too...  never turns down an offer to put on her shoes...

At the Blue Crabs game on Sunday

When she got a little restless in our seat, we went to the outfield lawn where there is a lot of room to sit, crawl, and watch the game.

Practicing walking

Sleeping on the way home.  She always puts the binky on her finger like that...

Finally...

... a quick update!

It's hard to find time to post now that I'm back in the routine of working!  But here are a few pics from our week...

Bella loves picking up phones (or even non-phone toys) and saying "hi"

Bella loves shoes.  She loves to wear them on her feet AND her hands.  If I pull out a diaper, she will crawl away from me.  If I pull out shoes, she comes straight for me.

Despite the look on her face, she was thrilled about this balloon.  She held it very tightly and it entertained her for a good long time while Anthony and I enjoyed our Starbucks this morning.

Again with her balloon and a book at Starbucks

Finally got her hair up in a mini-ponytail this week.

Aerial view

Anne, Bella's daycare provider, sent me this picture.  She said that there's no need to buy Bella toys because the kids are perfectly entertained by her dishwasher drawer.

Again, Bella with shoes...  this time on her feet...  (She's also wearing a new pair of PJs from Kohl's for $4.. score!)

At her recent doctor's appointment (weight check), Bella weighed 21 lbs. and 8 oz.  The doctor seemed satisfied that she gained 7 oz.  She still has her regular 15 month check up in a few weeks.

Let's see... what else is new...  Bella is taking 5-6 steps at a time in between us, but she is very hesitant and you need a really good bribe for her to be willing to attempt it.  She has days where she is really into the idea of walking, and days when she wants nothing to do with it.  Still she is making some progress.  She can crab walk like pro though.

She signs "milk," "all done," "cracker," and "baby".  She says "doggy," "hi," "mama," "daddy," "up," "yum," and "see."
